Awakening

singing to her
I've found my voice again
a solo in sanity
in a chorus of chaos

Universal Mother

I am given the gift of planets.

The laws of physics keep them dizzy spinning on their orbital paths. When I am mindful, I pull them towards me with a force stronger than gravity.

In the center, they are loved; they are free from the path chosen for them by history and others. When they are ready to fall back in line, they will remember me, and the magic they, too hold inside.

While they are traveling around their god, they will spin on their own axis, their own center, and dance with delight.

Touch

skin and tongues
sand and waves
ebb and flow
lost at sea

Saved

The black sea beckons. Drowning in the eyes of a child is a temptation I live with everyday. She cries to me, ‘Save me. Won’t you please save me?’

I turn to my daughter. Her ocean is deeper, calmer than mine, able to hold the sadness and displace it with her joy at a moment’s notice. In her eyes, I see the flecks of lightning, distant storms her mother and grandmother survived in their own amniotic seas.

Her eyes are my temple and my history. But she is not me. I thank the spirits of Motherhood for my chance to save her, for her chance to save me.

What If ? Anxiety

dangling from the tip
of a question mark
the sea of fear below me
is only a point

Into the Fire

to burn to bleed
the ashes around the flame
the passion in the smoke
long after embers die

Dandelion Trust

blowing away the fluffy comfort
of white lies that surround me
the naked eye can see

Free

blood orange heart melting anger
on the line of love
forgiveness flying forgiveness floating
the sky and sea are one

Solo

unintelligible words break free
singing who she wants to be
no matching music genre found
so she creates her own sound

Slow Release

wanting to unleash
the flood within
i dig a little deeper

nails bleeding
heart beating
soul being

a tear is meant to fall

The After Belly

remnants of you
folds of skin
waves of memories
where we've been

cut the chord
she floats away
sand dollar signature
stretch marks stay

Portrait of a Child

from the lens
she turns away
to all that they have missed
with their wide-angled gaze

War & Peace

slicing the enemy
with a thin heart
i cut myself with tears
bleeding love for the next time

Tears & Kisses

from wounds and womb
her flowers bloom
red petals mark her path
to Motherhood and back

Desire

chasing butterflies
empty handed
exhausted i let go

one sits in the palm of my hand
